Must have fishing accessory!
So far I've only used this pump twice but both times had awesome results. No harm done to the fish whatsoever, just remember proper handling techniques and of course always wet your hands before handling a fish.
It took a little practice to get the right suction to fish size but just follow the instructions. The pump should be almost completely full of water, insert into fishes stomach, squeeze a small amount of water in NEVER AIR then gently and slowly pull out. As you pull the pump out if you've done it right you will see the bugs or stomach contents flutter up into the tube.
Have a tube or container ready to observe your specimens. Most of the time the majority of the bugs are still alive and you can observe their movements as well.
The only drawback I found was that the pump doesn't stay clipped to my waders that great, sometimes bending over it has a tendency to fall off. A cheap retractable lanyard can fix that easily enough though.
All in all its a great product that I highly recommend to anyone who likes to take the guessing out of which fly to use and increase your numbers!
