Great picture quality and 1920x1200 resolution
Lots of types of input connection (display port, HDMI, DVI, VGA, audio) and picture quality is great. The sound from the built-in speakers isn't brilliant - but at least it has speakers.
I bought it because I like a bit more height (16:10 aspect ratio) & vertical resolution (1920x1200) compared to the standard 1920x1080 at 16:9 aspect ratio.

Probably the best travel zoom camera ever designed
Over the years, I have used multiple cameras from Canon, Leica, the Panasonic Lumix TZ60, TZ70 TZ90, TZ100 and various versions of the Sony RX100 family (including the latest Mark 7 variant). The Sony RX100M7 probably has the edge for videos (it's continuous focus adjustment is extremely good), but all in all I think the TZ200D (and its very close relatives, the TZ200 and Leica C-Lux) are the best overall. I would prefer a fraction thinner and a fraction lighter, but it does just fit in my pocket.
The TZ200D takes great quality pictures (particularly if you adjust the settings to underexpose by 1/3 stop, and increase sharpness &saturation slightly, and decrease noise reduction). It has a very useful 15x optical zoom range, equivalent to 24mm-360mm in 35mm SLR terms (and has a smart way of using just the centre of the sensor to extend the zoom to 1012mm if you reduce the image resolution to 10 Megapixels, rather than 20 Mp). It functions well in low light, has good image stabilisation (essential when using such a long zoom range at lower shutter speeds), and has lots of useful settings, with the ability to customise the menus (the touchscreen menus, the main menus, and the function buttons) for easy access to the settings you want to access most. You can also save 3 sets of settings for use in scenarios you often encounter - for me I have sets of settings stored which are optimised for taking pictures of landscapes, groups of people, and inside a museum - but if you just want a "point and shoot" camera, you can set it into "intelligent auto" mode, and it will do a great job.
