Poor battery life

Using a pulsing low-high pattern, the light only lasts about 2.5 hours before needing a charge. I have the Cygolite Hotshot 2W tail light for another bike and it lasts forever - at least 20 hours - between charges. I think I'll try the Hotshot micro as it is supposed to have much better battery life than the Hotrod.

Sound distortion problems

I wanted this product to be a home run but, in my use case, it was not. I installed this Grom BT3 device in a 2001 BMW and paired it with a Nexus Pixel phone. Music streaming was highly distorted and unbearable at the default BT volume setting. I contacted Grom and they advised that I turn down the volume to 50% and, when I did, the distortion was reduced dramatically but was still noticeable. What's more frustrating is that anytime I changed the playlist, answered the phone, or left and returned to the car, the volume would default to 100% and the distortion was horrendous. I decided to return the product and try another brand. To Grom's credit, they promptly issued an RMA and refunded the cost of the device.
