Possibly the last season released on DVD/Blu Ray

Certainly you can argue that the golden years are the first ten seasons or so of the Simpsons, but that doesn't mean all future seasons need to be ignored. After watching 16, which seemed to suffer in many spots (I assume due to work on the movie), I found 17 to be a really solid entry in the franchise. Finding myself laughing a lot more and enjoying the overall storylines, it felt like it was rejuvenating the series. Some of these episodes still fall victim to the latter seasons' problems, but many felt like a few steps closer to the golden years.
