Instructions?
2 von 3 finden das hilfreich Although the packaging stated that instructions were included in the kit there were none. I was able to find a schematic on the web and can figure out the component values and locations, but the missing instructions could be a problem for novice builders. Otherwise, the quality of the parts and PCB are good and up to Vellman standards.

Wish I'd tried one sooner
1 von 1 finden das hilfreich I began playing guitar 40 years ago and have owned several since then from $100 beginner models (UniVox & Austin) to pro gear (Guild Starfire 12 & Gibson ES-335 Studio) and have played some very nice acoustics owned by friends. (Martin) so, I realized that there was a sweet spot of playability and pitch perfect intonation that could be obtained - at a high price.
Even bought used and slightly out of date, the Yamaha APX-500 is the most enjoyable and satisfying combination of those factors which I've owned. I particularly like playing it because it makes me sound like a better guitarist. Its fun to just mess around and try new things that somehow end up sounding "right" spontaneously.
Yamaha may not have the cachet of other brand names, but the quality of workmanship, playability and voicing of this instrument is exceptional for the price. Since it's smaller and lighter in weight it's also comfortable to hold and play.
If you are anything but a pro musician who needs a full size/dreadnaught you should definitely consider the Yamaha APX-500.

An oldie, but a goodie.
I wanted to use this as an AM radio and it fills that role very well.
