Good fun to put together, easy to modify, great value for money.
1 von 1 finden das hilfreich The instructions for the clock kit were more than good enough to complete the project in less than an hour. In the kit are all the components to make a working clock provided you have somewhere to plug the USB power cable in. What isn't included is a battery to keep the clock running when it isn't connected to an external power supply. For this, it needs a CR1220 battery. This won't power the display, but will keep the internal clock running so you will not need to reset the time every time you plug it in.
Not mentioned in the description is that the display changes every minute to show day/date, and then temperature. I found this constantly changing display to be quite distracting. With some of these kits it is possible to modify this behaviour to disable either or both of these features leaving just the time. I discovered this through a little experimentation after observing that two of the microprocessor pins were made available on pads on the PCB. I haven't seen this documented anywhere else so YMMV. Note there are a couple of different versions of this kit. If you want to make this modification, then get the kit with two groups of 3 pads (see the photo).
To disable the display of 'day/date' or the 'temperature', solder one or two 1k ohm resistors as shown in the photo. These resistors are not supplied in the kit. I used SMD resistors, but this could just as easily be done with standard 'through hole' resistors (the smaller the better - 1/4w or 1/8w would both be fine).
Control of the display, reading the temperature, monitoring ambient light levels, sounding of the alarm and monitoring of the buttons is all controlled by a programmable micro-controller. For those who want a challenge, it is possible to load a completely different program into the micro-controller. Search for ‘stc15clock’ on GitHub for details on how to get started.

Doesn't fit the GSF1200
This gasket set is advertised as fitting the GSF600 GSF650 & GSF1200. The clutch cover gasket and the signal generator gaskets fitted my GSF1200 just fine, but the alternator/starter cover gasket did not. It looks more like a GSF600 gasket and apparently they are not interchangeable.
