Overlooked 80's band, who should've been bigger than U2

Then Jerico had the lot, a charasmatic lead singer with a great voice, sparkiling tunes and a great stage prescence. Hotly tipped by the likes of John Peel when their debut album "First (The sound of music)" was released, but apart from a minor hit for standout track "The Motive", it's chart position deserved better. Follow up album "Big Area" faired much better, with singles "Big Area, What Does It Take and Sugar Box" all making the top 20, and the album making the top 10, big things looked set to follow, but relations between the band became somewhat frosty. Reports of frontman Mark Shaw being difficult to work with and being a bit of a prima donna, hit the music press, and slowly from being touted as the natural successers to U2 and Simple Minds, Then Jerico called it a day. This compilation of singles and album tracks shows us just how very good they were, and how huge they could've and should've been. It's nice to see that unlike most 80's bands, there tracks still standup somewhat today.... Good band who should've been great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
