Excellent Processor Upgrade for an Aging Laptop
This CPU was an upgrade for a Dell Precision M4600 laptop, replacing an i5-2520. It is a significantly better processor, bringing better throughput, and extending the life of this old battlewagon of a laptop.
The installation proceeded well enough once the disassembly of the laptop was completed per its service manual.
I used Arctic Silver 5 instead of the provided paste. That's just my preference, and is not a ding on the provided paste. I know how AS5 works, what it does, and what it won't do (like migrate).

Works Fine, Lasts A Long Time
Does what it says on the tin. Perfect fit, much quieter operation than the previous beater bar I had.
Well packed, and arrived promptly. What's not to like? Installation was tricky with my ham-hands, but that's just me. Patience and a bit of strength to pull the belt into place will get the job done.
(I wish I had a JIS screwdriver to fit the fasteners on the machine. A Phillips bit got the job done, but the screws are JIS. and are aluminum... not a knock on the beater bar at all. It works! Mamma is happy.)
