Grandson pays tribute to his famous grandfather
Theo Croker is paying tribute to his late grandfather, trumpeter Doc Cheatham, by playing in a traditional jazz style. He bears a resemblance to his grandfather, both in terms of his appearance and vocal style. For those interested in Croker's later work that incorporates modern rhythm and blues and hip-hop, this record may prove disappointing. For what it is, this is a traditional jazz date that lives up to its title.

Virtuosic and fun
The duo is playing a concert soon in my area and thought I'd try one of their disks first. Glad I did. This is exceedingly well-played Mozart and fun at the same time! Very enjoyable. Will definitely go to hear them in person.

Excellent introduction to jazz for children
Bought this so new parents could expose their daughter to real jazz in the not-too-distant future. Top mainstream jazz players assume the roles of animals. Comes with a booklet containing accompanying artwork. The artwork is part of a slide show on the disk itself in the PC platform, but not for Macintosh. Out of print, unfortunately.
