Defective - Does Not Work

I installed the gas control with a new thermocouple. When I tried to light the pilot light, it would go out when I released the button. I tried another new thermocouple hoping that was the problem. The gas control still refused to keep the pilot light lit. It doesn't work. I bought and installed a broken gas control. The gas control was probably just salvaged and never tested.
