Size Matter's

I read what I ordered after it arrived. I assumed it was the was the right size for a twin bed. But a twin bed is 39
inches wide this topper is 34 inches like it say's in the add. Does it work,yes doe's it fit not in the width of the bed.
I also let it lay out for hours to let it expand after shipping the length is fine, as I said the width is not the width of a twin bed and it is only 3 inches deep not 4 inches.
