This was purchased as my 3rd AV tuner for my Bose Acoustimass home theater speakers. My original Sony product was their STR- V555ES. I have continued to purchase Sony's ES-series products circa 1999-2000 as the sound is excellent with very little distortion. My 400 CD carousel player is on 4-8 hours / day. I want my current ES series product to continue to work for more years. When that "dies" I'll replace it with this unit. The Optical Ports make a huge difference vs. wired unit-to-unit connections.
