American Gospel thought provoking
This was a most interesting book, in which the author theorizes that the U.S. has a "national religion" of secularism combined with a basic belief in God. Meacham follows religious influence from early colonial times to 9/11. I enjoyed the book for its historical standpoint and basically unbiased approach to religion. It was very thought-provoking.
I listened to the audio CDs in the car. It is unabridged and has five- to six-minute tracks, which makes it easy to back up when needed. The reader was excellent.

American Gospel by Jon Meacham audiobook

So happy to find Fruit Fresh on ebay!
Like my mom and her mother and grandmother before her, I've used Fruit Fresh for keeping cut fruits tasting fresh and prevent them from turning brown for more than 50 years. Now, since Ball no longer is in the canning business, the product is no longer made. Reviews from frustrated former Fruit Fresh users for the new replacement product that contains sugar are less than stellar. I was thrilled to find two canisters for sale on ebay at a relatively decent price. Since this product is an excellent natural preservative, the ingredients don't expire and we are set for several more years.
