Believable, creepy, but not horric. See it for the abandoned asylum where it was filmed.
Bought this solely for historical purposes for the footage shot at the Danvers State Hospital in Massachusetts opened in 1874. We had a kinsman confined there for a grisly 1882 murder. The movie itself was good with strong performances by an ensemble cast. The bat-winged building in the film burned but part of the structure was saved. The old State Hospital campus now consists of high-end apartments and condos with spectacular views from the hilltop.

A Tale Well-Told, Fictionlized Account Based on Actual Events
I bought this for my father, a World War II veteran who also served in the U.S. Naval Armed Guard. This is a fictionalized account based on actual events. My father said that the details ring true as they should because the author is an Naval Armed Guard veteran as well.
