Cracking little dac for tv.

I purchased this item to connect my TV to my amplifier. My tv has no analogue outputs, it only has a toslink optical digital output. I do all my viewing using a chromecast. I used an old phone usb charger to power the dac. Every thing else is supplied. The unit is surprisingly well built. The case is powder coated metal not plastic. All of the connectors appear to be gold plated. The supplied cables are of a generous length and the optical lead is of a much higher quality than one would expect at this price. The instructions are basic but you'd have to be a complete banana to wire it up wrong. Sound quality is surprisingly good. It isn't audiophile but for less than a fiver you can't ask for better. The sound is a little thin and lightweight but well detailed and clean. Plugged into a half decent amplifier/speaker combination it will beat any soundbar. For less than five pounds you can't go wrong. Highly recommended.
