Zero fret vs string nut
I tried one of these and now I find myself converting the whole collection over to them. I find that the guitar plays more accurately at the first few frets. Also the open strings ring beautifully clean. In comparison a traditional nut sounds a bit dead or "pinched" and they always seem to intonate a bit sharp at the first few frets.
One caveat however. I don't like the pre-slotted model. I tried one just to see how it was and the string spacing was not good. Laying out and slotting a blank nut is a lot of work and requires specialized tools. But it is the only way to go for a professional installation.

Does the job
Best hand cleaner I've ever used. Only need a small dab to clean your hands. Does not dry the skin out.
