Are they neccessary
I bought the filters to go with the water fountain - but felt they really were not needed. They slowed the flow of water to a trickle rather than a flow. I will give fountain and filters to animal shelter for single use pet owner. Merideth Farley

Suitable for only 1-2 pets
The size and idea are fabulous- but the filter sponge for the pump it totally inadequate. It clogs quickly and therefore does not protect the pump from clogging up. It maybe suitable for 1 - 2 pets but I have eight cats and I ended up cleaning it every day which I found unacceptable where as the previous waterwell was a weekly clean. The carbon filter I felt did nothing except decrease flow overall. My cats liked the fountain flow but even when clean it was not as pictured. I will probable give to animal shelter for single pet use. Merideth Farley
