Stick with your instinct
Seemed like a reasonable answer to the problem of deteriorating wheel centres. Having tried replacement centres I couldn't find any to fit properly.
These are easy to fit and look good.

If it's what you want, get it.
I have used the plastic version for years and thought I'd have a change. It does exactly what it says, but I am disappointed with the design and quality. The on/off switch is particularly vulnerable and the water level indicator isn't illuminated making it difficult to read.
