A solid classic computer platform.

Ti built the 99/4 family of products to last and they have. With a little TCL these products should last much longer!

1541 Alps is good, avoid Mitsumi

The 1541 and 1541-II with the D500 drive, the ones with the swivel latches, are to be avoided. The heads die and the aren't any replacement heads so it is a door stop. Get the Alps drive units, it has the fire you press shut. This drives may have latch wear for issues but they can be fixed.

Whirlpool shelves do not last, but are a necessary evil.

The product here on Ebay is a good used part but the Whirlpool shelves are not made very well and break on a regular basis. Be prepared to perpetually buy new shelves for their refrigerators.
