the most disappointing purchase i made in last few years
0 von 3 finden das hilfreich this unit is advertised as "Engineered for paramount sound quality, the CDA-117 is a premium quality head unit"
theres no such thing built into this unit.
the features are added only to make you want to buy the imprint addon.
there used to be an alpine bass engine PRO( cda-9833,9835,9855 etc) it has full sound tunign package built in just like cda-9887
but cda-9887 doesnt come with usb.
alpine purposely not putting a bass engine PRO and usb unit in one package because the other garbage would not sell as high end head unit .
the features are mediocre at best, lack of separate crossover for front and rear speakers,lack of detailed EQ. for someone running 3 way front stage the 63hz eq is not enough to tune it.
the usb interface is ridiculous.
a 3 year old kenwood head unit is able to handle my MP3 collection without any problems. this one has to constantly be"banking"
its a 32gb flash drive with almost full capacity of songs.
and browsing interface is so stoneage like.
(i owned kenwood kdc-x592 before this) 150 dollar head unit that had twice as much sound tuning features and was much easier to use than this..
btw alpine fans and defenders im nota noob to car stereo i ve been an installer for last 8-9 years, owned and used almost every stereo of higher quality
but the good news.
if you are upgrading from say a 50-100 dollar stereo that had absolutely no features of any kind, you will be pleased with this underfeatured and overpriced stereo, and might even go out and buy an imprint without really knowing how to properly use it or tune the system.

No bass
needs subwoofer
the only amp out of 15 or so amps that made my speakers sound like cheap boombox.
does not have an eq. Only auto eq and room correction.
and useless bass/treble
buy teac ai-301da instead. Much better sound without the need for any eq
