George Michael's Greatest album?
1 von 1 finden das hilfreich All music is subjective and personal. But this album has to be seen as nigh on perfect. Why?
His voice.
Musical arrangement.
Lyrics.
Even the iconic cover.
With the box set, there are many other gems.
It may be a personal thing but I listen without prejudice.

Bowie's finest moment?
Bowie was at his crossroad moment here. With the end of the psychedelic era and old moniker, he became established as a true artist. There are clear moments of hanging in there, with 60's sentiments but nonetheless, his unique lyrical style, voice and arrangements hint at 'future legend'.
This is a very, very fine LP and seems severely unappreciated, compared to the more recognised genius albums of the 1970's. Underestimate it at your peril.

As befits the film.
Clint Mansell seems to commission his work to the soul of the film. In this instance, he manages to exemplify the personality of Vincent Van Gogh, as I have always imagined it to be:
One of angst, anger, loss, love and even betrayal. There is even a hint of the acceptance of tragedy and his undeniable weaknesses and naivety of an echoing voice in the violet wilderness of the Camargue.
Mansell has surely succeeded in marrying His soundtrack to the living art across the gamut of said emotions.
This is a fine and worthy piece, which I'm absolutely sure will become accepted as an emotive classic. In my own, humble opinion, it already is.
