Versatile value!
Hornby’s speaker is adequate but only just. With a decent speaker the superb quality of the decoder belies it’s price; it’s less than half the price of a ‘top drawer’ Zimo or Loksound so, unless you really need the much greater versatility and adjustments offered by the expensive decoders, don’t waste your money. Many of the TTS ‘dedicated’ decoders can be used very realistically in locos for which they were not designed and in all likelihood only you will know it’s not totally authentic!
