Well made
Good quality as demonstrated by the thread fit which is firm yet screws up with ease. Folds up to reduce size when not in use enabling it to be left on lens.

Minor problem
The D ring on the camera attach bolt will not lay flat when the plate is attached to the camera as it jambs on the edge of the recessed hole making it difficult to attach to the tripod. I fixed this by fitting a washer beneath the bolt head. Otherwise it does as it was designed to.

Not as Advertised
I wanted a book on using the Mini Lathe. This book is light on instruction about the use of the lathe. However it is very good at detailing the work required to bring the lathe to a working condition. A tyro would not be able to use the lathe as delivered as it has only been assembled but not adjusted. The book does an outstanding job of detailing the work required to get the machine to a usable condition and then details a series of modifications which improve it's scope. In retrospect I could not have prepared the machine for use without this book and will find another that deals with the nitty gritty of using it.
