A lifesaver for spark plug hole repair
Excellent high quality kit. Perfect for my 2005 Mercury Sable. Being overly cautious I used a Dremel to put a notch in the drive end of the tap & used a slightly longer set screw so when using the extension even if the set screw came loose the notch would hold the tap so it would not drop out of the extension. Use grease on tap & clean tap every few turns. Clean finished new threads well with lacquer thinner to remove grease residue & blow out with air compressor. Use Loctite 271 on bottom half of thread of insert, & JB Weld on top half of thread of insert, and let Loctite set for 15 minutes before removing insert install tool. Use flange tool to make taper seat for plug. Then let sit for at least 24 hours so JB Weld can fully cure and you have a permanent repair.
