McHale's Navy
1 von 1 finden das hilfreich Much better sitcom than those being produced today. The sets were excellent and every historical detail considered. The PT-73 is a very accurate representation of the WW II Navy PT boats. You do not see this in today's sitcoms where the sets are just room interiors.
The characters relate to each other exceedingly well. The writing was well done to take advantage of these relationships.
These episodes may be in black and white, but there is no loss in the comedic acting and the fun brought to the audience. Very well done. I would love to see sitcoms that come up to the standards of McHale's Navy. It is probably just not cost effective to do so today.

Quicken 2013 Nags About Upgrading
This Quicken version is the same reliable Quicken I have used for several years. This issues are two-fold. At startup, it shows a window about upgrading to the latest version, something that I am not interested in doing. Unfortunately, there is nothing the user can do to shut this off. It pops up every time at startup and you cannot proceed to the application unless you exit out of this annoying window. Second, in the investment account registers, there are buttons on every transaction. Why? There should only be buttons for transactions that are being added. If you are using an older version of Quicken, unless you really need to upgrade, I would recommend holding off.

Add New Life to Your Athearn Dummy Locomotives with these Wheel Assemblies
Take your old blue box Athearn dummy locomotives and give them new life with these new locomotive wheel assemblies. The metal wheels roll much better than the original plastic wheels. They may also open other interesting possibilities. I found I can add a resistor to the truck assembly and the locomotive is now detectable on my club's layout. I am going to explore the possibility of adding sound using the wheel assemblies as pick-ups for the power and processing signal a decoder will need. These wheel assemblies are great and I would highly recommend them.
