Worth a listen- either again or for the first time
Great 80's music. Had this on cassette back in the day, happy to hear these wonderful songs on CD again.

Communards +1 Bonus Track Remaster
This is a re-issue of the classic 1987 self-titled debut album by Jimmy Somerville's group, Communards. This version contains the original LP versions of all the tracks, unlike the original CD that included extended mixes in place of the album tracks for the four singles. It also includes the b-side track "Breadline Britain" from the You Are My World single plus the 22+ minute Gotham City Mix of "Don't Leave Me This Way". (Released on vinyl as Part One and Part Two, they are linked together as one long track here, although their is a fade at the end of part one making it easy to tell where the original tracks were split into two.) I'd never heard "Part One" before, it's a radically different version with new vocals & lyrics (even sung to a new melody) and lots of creative dubs and musical re-arrangements. On it's own, it's not a great track, but as part of the longer megamix, it's a fun diversion from what might have otherwise become monotonous with 22 minutes to listen to.
High quality mastering, nice set of liner notes, and decent selection of tracks- if you own the original CD it's worth getting this one, too- there's 5 tracks here that you don't have there. If you DON'T have this one, it's a great album of classic 80's disco that still sounds great today.
