Highly Underrated
The MMX series of Pearl Masters was highly underrated. 4 ply maple shells with 4 ply reinforcement rings. Really upped Pearls game. These drums still hold up today. The maple is top quality and the construction is second to none. Finishes are lacquer or clear lacquer over beautiful stains. The drums sing. The MMX varient are loud, but still musical. I ended up switching to the BRX birch because Im a heavy hitter but God I loved my MMX kit.
