Had I seen it first I would not have bought this book.
"The Final Years of London Midland Region Steam" contains some very interesting photographs from the period described by the book's title. Other photographs of preserved steam taken in more recent years have all been seen before and hardly fit in with the expectations which the title gives.
Some of the earlier photographs are not completely sharp which is a shame, but the full page image on page 44 is totally out of focus. I cannot believe that such a terrible image would have been accepted for publication in any book and must therefore, conclude that the image distortion was caused in the printing of the book. I intend to take this up with the publisher.
Overall not a book that I would have purchased if I had looked through it before buying.
