"Hard Times" (1975) - hard hitting Depression era film; one of Charles Bronson's best roles.

Billboard's Hottest Hot 100 HIts by Fred Bronson (2003)
Excellent source for Billboard hits from 1956-2001. Interesting year by year accounts of hit songs are provided with loads of trivia. Invaluable for research and enjoyable for light reading. The "Top 5000 Songs of the Rock Era" are listed in order according to an elaborate system that author Bronson devised. I enjoyed reading lists such as "The Top 100 Instrumentals" and "The Top 100 Songs" of the decades from the Fifties to the Nineties. This book includes separate chapters on "The Artists," "The Writers," "The Producers," and "The Labels." It is a Rock History in one readable volume; "Oldies" to "Hip-Hop." This book, along with Joel Whitburn's "Billboard's Top 40 Hits," has provided me with hours of pleasant memories and has served as a collector's checklist for many varieties of music. This is one book that no music lover should be without.
