Tense!
Great cast - you can never go wrong with John Hurt. Tense, exciting but a bit bewildering. If not based on a true story I may have not believed it but well-done.

Two Movies - One of Them is Worth It.
I bought the DVD for "Vampire's Kiss." It is the most astounding performance by Nicholas Cage - he takes crazy risks with his character and dishes up tragedy and comedy like I've never seen. I had the VHS tape but bought the DVD for the bonus track with Cage's commentary. Haven't had a chance to listen to it yet.
"Once Bitten" is amateur time. But it's a good opportunity to see Jim Carrey at age 23 looking more like age 16. The writing and direction is more like 13. Much ado about sex. I don't know why lovely Lauren Hutton agreed to do the film - perhaps because she's in nearly every scene. Direction is painfully slow and adolescent.
