Exploring Evolution (UK edition)
It tells the evidence for and against the main tenets of neo-Darwinism: universal common descent and the creative power of natural selection. Using fossil succession, anatomical homology, molecular homology, embryology, and biogeography as part of the evidence, it follows a point-counterpoint argument style and has a bibliography for further study. It also has a chapter on the arguments for and against irreducible complexity in molecular machines. We will use for a homeschool class to present both sides of the argument. This fills a big gap, since public schools don't teach a complete view regarding evolution, as they don't talk of the weaknesses in the theory. It is much more interesting to explore both sides of the issue. From what I've read so far, this book does NOT attempt to say anything about Bible interpretion (staying within the realm of science) and does NOT try to make any data fit within a young-earth creationist view. I am relieved about the fact that it doesn't try to say anything against the old age of the earth, which is much more plausible according to scientific data.
