HTC Desire from a Luddite
I've had a mobile phone for many years when they were the size of a house brick, and so going from a wafer thin phone to the larger Smart phone was a little daunting. Like most phones it was very easy to set up, but had a little difficulty with the contacts, especially when sync'd with my google account - there's got to be an easier way?, and had the swipe screens with the usual email and messages etc. My only reservation when buying any android phone was its use when in my car with the Novero bluetooth kit. I read numerous sites about how everone was waiting for 2.2 which would have voice tagging, but it never appeared. So I was apprehensive that I needed the voice tagging but realising that android didn't cater for that feature. I tried the vlingo app but was dissappointed as it was temperamental with my english accent, plus the phone had to be handy to 'tap' the screen, which isn't good when driving along. Finally I store the top 20 numbers used in my "dialled number" directory of the Novero for easy access. Using a Parrot CK3100/3200 would be a better bluetooth kit choice as these store voice tags against numbers within the device, for phones without voice tagging.
Overall I've moved into the 21st century and now have a phone that my 15yr old daughter says is 'ok' and the geeky guys at work give me tips on 'how to do this and that' to get it more functional for me.
I'm sure this style of phone is the way forward. Android is more functional than the other 'fruit based' operating system phone and does require a little more time to set up for your life style needs.
