Great little display
Units are good quality. Back lights are nice and bright. The only issue I had is that the contrast is so low you can hardly see the characters (as delivered and running on 3.3V). At 5V they are fine. However, with the following "fix" they look great at 3.3V. What you do is on the back of the board you will see three small solder jumpers labeled J1-J3 near U3, J3 should already be jumped. You need to enable U3 by shorting J2, this is the negative voltage generator for the contrast when running on 3.3V. Then you need to replace R7 (0 ohm) with a 6.2K 0805 surface mount resistor to get the correct ratios for good contrast. Do not connect anything to pin 3 (contrast ADJ). Easy fix. Hope this helps.
