An OK upgrade over onboard GPU for an HTPC/quiet rig
Good for a quiet system (HTPC) that sees no or only a very light gaming (older titles or lower resolution/detail). Runs at approx. 50-55 degrees Celsius in a very nicely ventilated Apevia Jupiter case. Requires two slots, so probably not the best choice for mATX mobos (the cooler hangs over one of the PCI/PCIe 1x slots, so if you happen to have a couple of Wi-Fi, TV, etc. expansion cards, then you might find yourself facing a tough choice of letting one of them go). The card is not long, so there shall be no fitting problems.

Top choice 4 an AGP system with a reasonably powerful P4/Athlon XP (Barton)
I bought HD 2600 XT to replace my ageing Nvidia 6800GT (a good card on its own) in my kids' rig (Abit IC7-G, P4 3GHz Northwood, 2GB Corsair RAM). This one runs a lot cooler and it also does a wee bit better in newer games. Don't expect it to perform miracles though. If I were not CPU limited (i.e. if I had one of those older dual core motherboards with an AGP slot), I'd go for x1950 PRO, HD3850, HD4650 or HD4670, but for a P4 system, this one is the best choice (alongside HD3650). I used to have 7600GT too and HD2600XT seems to be on the same level performance wise. It is a little cooler too. The very same rig also sported a Radeon x1950 PRO at some point, but I always felt it was bottlenecked by the CPU.
