Fresh and insightful playing that is also well recorded.
Five stars definitely yes, but "amazing" as the five stars imply is the wrong word. This set sits along side all of my others and offers a fresh interpretation on these seminal works. No single artist has the monopoly on this repertoire. Brendel's mid to late 70's recordings are the ones I always seem to go back to but that is not intended as a criticism of this Barenboim offering.

One of the best products ever made by Sony
I am a huge fan of these HXD8xx series machines and there is little available today that even comes close to what these can offer in terms of features. They are super reliable and easy to use with excellent picture quality. One thing to be aware of is that new machines like this (and many older 2nd user ones) will be running either original (or early) firmware and software which means that they MUST be updated to the latest in order to function correctly. These files are still available on the Sony support site but you will need to be familiar with burning a data CDR to make use of them. If you use HDMI then let the TV do the upscaling rather than the recorder as the image quality will be far better. I can't rate these highly enough.

Good performance and it looks great as well.
Good performance and WiFi coverage with very easy set up. I knew exactly what I wanted before getting this and it has not disappointed. This was the FTTP version which works on both FTTP and FTTC.
All good.
