Night of the Living Dead (1990, Remake,DVD)

As far as remakes go - I'm always a little leary of how someone has mangled a perfectly good classic, But in this case they did a pretty darn good job of not SUCKING ! Patricia Tallman (later to be a Babylon 5 PsyCop) takes the "whiney sister" Barbara part and turns her into the "get the hell out of my way, I'll do it myself !!!" lead roll. Just when you think you know whats coming next guess again, this is not your father's horror flick, this is a different film but still great gore abounds at every turn. This film is great fun for the "Night of the Living dead" film series fans and "B" horror film lovers alike. But then again how couln it not be with George A. Romero co-producing it, and he himself rewrote the the script for this remake. So get your hands on a copy and "CHOW DOWN" today!!!

The Thirteenth Floor (1999,DVD)

This is not the "Matrix", nor should it be confused with that genre! The Thirteenth floor will make you think twice, about what it is that you perceive to be as your little piece of reality. This a slick little classic sci-fi mystery movie that is low on action, high on thought provocation. There is some action but it only serves to build the tension, not smother it! The same goes for the special effects, they only help tell the story not define it. You need to watch this flick several times and see all the little subtle things that tie the story together that your going to miss with just one viewing! This film and "Dark City" were overlooked at the box office because the Matrix came out that same year. Craig Bierko and Gretchen Mol do a fine job in these rolls, and Vincent D'onofrio is at his split personality best! SOOOO what I'm trying to say is BUY youself a copy of this movie put it in the DVD player, push the play button and sit down and ENJOY!!!

I've always been an Anthrax fan. Even after lead singer Joey was no longer fronting the band, John just seemed to fit the bill. The whole album is full of Anthrax fun. If your a fan and don't have this in your collection, your missing out!! Get to buying or bidding RIGHT NOW !!!
