Dimplex XLE 0.7kw Storage Heater 7 Day Timer Eco design - XLE070 (with bricks)

Quantum leap in storage heater technology.

This storage heater is a massive improvement over the old one which it replaced (probably c. 30 years old). Although the fundamental principles remain the same, it is significantly more controllable, with a 7 day timer. This can be overridden if required, relatively straightforwardly. The appearance is better too. It will be interesting to see how it looks in 30 years though! My only slight issue is that it took several days to warm up and work effectively. I guess this is only a problem when first switched on, or if switched on after being off for a period. It did worry me though and I was starting to wonder whether there was something wrong with it.

A Useful find

Glad to be able to find this washer on eBay as bike shop couldn’t source one. However, the most expensive washer I ever bought by far.

Solid and well made. Did the job!

Fairly straightforward to fit the ski racks to the roof bars with the instructions provided. No tools were required other than something sharp to cut the rubber seals to length on the bars themselves. Once in place they felt very solid and they look well made. Extra spacers are provided to lift racks further from the car roof. We did not need these but skis with other bindings or snowboards might need these to be fitted. We bought this item to transport skis through Switzerland for a skiing holiday. It took 6 pairs of skis as advertised and held them securely.
