They have a timer which is precise and regular, Batteries last longer than if you had to BUY a votive candle to REPLACE the one that GUTTERED out, CLEAN the mess, REMEMBER to blow it out, WATCH that it doesn't BURN the house down, and REMEMBER to light it. EVERY STINKIN DAY! I love the ease of these candles. You simply TURN the candle on when you want it to light up, and FORGET it, ENJOY light for several weeks and then replace the battery! Simple, easy, safe, and bright! BRILLIANT!!!!
