Samsung J1 Impressions after a week
2 von 2 finden das hilfreich On the whole I'm very pleased with this phone. It's not laggy, the screen is good and receptive and it does all I want of it. I have used this phone a lot over the last week. Not so much for calls, but running and installing apps, This has meant the screen is on for a lot of this time and the battery as been lasting 2 days. Once I've finished "playing" with it, I assume the battery will last longer.
One big downer for me is memory space. There's a total of 4GB and Android uses nearly 2GB of that for system files and cache. That leaves a meagre 2GB for apps. Admittedly you can move some of these to SD card, but others insist on being on the phone, so it's a job to use as little of that 2GB as possible. Having said that, #I've got navigation, streaming, social media and quite a few other apps installed and by keeping as much as possible on the SD card, I've still managed to keep just over half a gigabyte free. Other than this. I can't fault it.
My major criteria was to have a phone with a big enough screen for adult fingers to be able to use the onscreen keyboard, but still have a small enough formfactor to fit in a pocket. Apaft from it's primary use for sms and calls, my main use of it is as an mp3 player, which it does well. I've found that 2.5 hours of listening used up 3% of bsattery power.
If you want lots of phone based apps and games, give the J1 a miss, but if like me, you want a small(ish) functional phone which can handle the usual range of standard apps used these days, (most of which run from the SD card), then I'd recommend it.
