Crude and magnificent!
1 von 2 finden das hilfreich What amazing characters! So many are nuanced, with good qualities and bad qualities, sometimes pulling at each other. Lots of vulgarity, but the patterns of speech are true to the era, and in amongst the swearing is some of the most wonderful dialog! Sad that it didn't tie off more conclusively, but that doesn't happen in life either. A great show, worth seeing more than once.

Flavorful, varied, fast-and-easy recipes.
2 von 2 finden das hilfreich This book includes recipes well suited for cooking after work. They come from all around the world, and where ever they are from they are full of flavor and wonderfully healthy.
The book should appeal to more than vegetarians: the fish recipes I have tried are excellent; in fact, many of my favorite seafood recipes come from books by the Moosewood Collective. Also, many of the sauces and salsas go just fine with any protein of your choice.
Some ingredients are a little specialized, but if you have a well-stocked kitchen you shouldn't be caught short often.
Recipes are well laid out and simple to follow. The book is organized logically, and it has a good index. It's not a book for those who like a photo of every recipe. Physically it's a heavy book: that never used to bother me, but I guess I'm getting older, and a heavy book can make for uncomfortable browsing (though it does make it nice and steady on the table as you cook).
If you have other books by the Moosewood Collective you will find this one to create meals of the same high quality. If the food is less complex, remember that your prep and cooking time is shorter.
