For deep infrared photography
A 950nm filter is good for IR photography with ample light when you want deep IR effects with no visible light in the exposure. The Albinar 950nm worked well in my casual tests and yielded strong effects.

Won't make your E6400 a MacBook Air but the illumination is handy
This backlit keyboard was a perfect fit for my E6400, though installing a keyboard in that machine takes a little wiggling and pushing and the arrow keys did not work at first. (I've seen complaints about that problem with E6400 keyboards before.) The solution I devised was to push hard to smooth out the connector, which fits in under the top of the trackpad, after installing the keyboard, as the connector is prone to bending and may be making only partial contact with the socket. All keys are fine now. The backlight is not as elegant as that in Apple laptops -- light shines through the gaps between the keys -- but it's very convenient at night. It works well with Linux Mint, though once again one doesn't have the control over brightness that one has in an Apple laptop. The feel of the keypad is identical to the original keyboard, which is good, and the trackpoint works well too.

A proper QR plate
The plates are of metal construction and fit my tripod head easily and snugly.
