Life Studies by Susan Vreeland
What a lovely surpise this collection of short stories is for the reader. All of the author's work that I have read centers around art and these stories are no exception. Her stories bring the influence of art into the realm of everyday people and their lives. The time line begins in the late 1800's and leads the reader to the present. If you appreciate a good story and love art, or know a friend who does....then by all means get this book. In fact, buy a couple to have around as gifts.

The Senator's Wife
1 von 1 finden das hilfreich Ms. Miller has done an outstanding job in character development in this story which deals with the marriages of two women. Delia, the older senator's wife, who despite an openly philandering husband, still somehow maintains a loving relationship toward him and Mari, her next door neighbor, the young professor's wife, who is still trying to find herself in her marriage and in the first stages of motherhood. An excellent story, well written and a very easy read.
Never saw the ending coming......and I always love that in a book.

Short and Sweet
Small book with interesting comments on books that influenced Mr. Conroy. Found it a quick and easy read..... well worth my trine. Loved his remarks on Gone With the Wind. Fun read!
