very light, slip on shoe
I found this brand when bargain shopping in the USA. It's very unusual - they seem to have a whole different set of materials and a completely different approach to making soles, footbeds, etc. This means that your heel sits a lot lower than you might be used to in 'normal' shoe designs. For me, this and the very wide fitment at the toes is a big help with my slow-healing foot injuries. If I had a criticism, it is that the very lightest designs (some of which use Canvas instead of leather) seem to wear their soles away very rapidly. This particular model (the Dawn Patrol) has a very obviously thicker sole, which is why I bought it.

smart solution to reviving old tired lighting
super-bright with a very pleasing daylight spectrum. Runs much cooler than the old bulbs it replaced, too.

It is big and it is clever
1 von 1 finden das hilfreich The FZ50 is just about the largest of the Panasonic Lumix range of cameras. This size is because, unlike pretty much everything else in the range an pretty much all the other "SLR format" cameras in the market, the FZ50 has a fixed-size lens and a manual focus & zoom ring on the lens barrel. For me, the most important outcome of these attributes is, the camera starts up in an incredibly short period: it has to be under a second. There's no whirring as the lens wanders about, and if you want to zoom in or out then it happens as fast as you can move your hand. That's a massive difference in operation.
I have several other Lumixes; the one that actually made me some money was an ancient 5-megapixel camera, and the reason it made money is that the startup process is very speedy: the TZ50 beats even that one to the punch.
The other attribute that sells the camera to me is the flip-down turn-round LCD screen; it means you can shoot from the waist, and shoot very quickly, without people really realising you've taken a picture.
My only criticism is that the payoff for the speed and the manual zoom is that it's not that good at macro or wide-angle; 35mm is the bottom end and that's definitely "outdoors only" - but then I have the FZ20 for ladybirds and so on.
