Most vtg. fan motors I purchase look like they've come out of a barn: rusty, grimy, frayed wiring, etc. This was the opposite: a motor cleaned and ready for re-assembly. The headwire, a critical component, was spliced into a new cloth wire, with plenty of room to reach the base. The greasebox was filled with a cleaning solvent, which I replaced with "red n tacky." Bearings need service, as noted. Thanks!

For those who need an inexpensive but ultra-reliable wristwatch with traditional analog hands and numerals, but which also has the 24-hour time printed with the standard 12-hour clock, this Timex is an ideal purchase. Among its practical yet attractive features is its canvas-colored fiber wristband, which is designed so that the body of the watch can be placed almost anywhere on the band merely by sliding it in either direction. Doing so allows the buckle to be located properly on small as well as very large wrists. The band has ample holes to enable the band to fit any wrist, and also has not one but two stainless-steel bars to keep the arrow-shaped end of the band in place. The watch is also equipped with a hard sapphire cover, which will resist scratches nearly as well as glass. This Timex is an exceptional buy, especially online, and has the quality and durability that always have been associated with the Timex brand.

ROVNER: FIRST NAME IN LIGATURES
Until Rovner began its innovative line of ligatures, we clarinetists were reliant upon nickel-plated metal ones that put uneven pressure on the reed. Rovner ligatures are engineered to insure that the reed sits perfectly on the “table” of the mouthpiece, with equal pressure applied to the entire body of the reed. Rovner’s ligatures are broadly divided into “light” and “dark,” referring to their effect upon the clarinet’s tones.
