Impossible to Categorize or Resist.

I can't explain exactly why I love these nutters. I thought I hated Doo-Whop, and I do, but Mark Turban's voice can perfectly imitate the style while bringing an irreverent garage / punk /twisted sensibility to that reference. Khan and BBQ Show are true originals, just so delightfully weird. I do wish they would add a bass player and percussionist to their ensemble so Mark can concentrate on just doing 2 things at once. Playing this CD on a good stereo, I noticed a little discrepancy in recording levels, but not terrible. Better than a Misfits recording at least. No lyrics sheet or productions notes which was massively disappointing. They used their insert space for a very sill game you can cut out and play. Did I mention these guys are nutters?

Early Teddybears Were Not Helpless Cubs

Ahead of their time creatively like Whale, loud and funky like the Red Hot Chili Peppers (but much better), early Teddybears are as unique and fun as their 21st century version. Not many bands have two distinct periods in which their style and sound were equally refined and successful.
