Know if you need 12 volt A/C or D/C or if it matters to your project
Lighting such as small LED lamps usually will work with either A/C or D/C. However, motors will care. I used this transformer to replace one that died on a fiber optic Christmas tree. This unit will power the 20 watt incandescent bulb and the small motor that turns the color wheel. The motor only works on A/C. The lamp didn't care.
Oddly enough you could power almost a 30 watt LED landscape flood or spot light for use other than in your landscaping. That's a lot of light. It is the equivalent of a 200 watt incandescent bulb with almost no heat or fire danger.
One last note. Most complex electronic will fry if they require D/C and you feed them A/C or you feed the D/C with reversed polarity. Voltage in this case, is less specific. Too little it won't work, a lot too much again extra crispy, close but not exact usually not a problem. Low voltage is like weak worn out batteries in your flash light. It works, but not well. This is a 2.9 amp (2900 milliamperes) transformer. As long as this is greater than the transformer you are replacing there will be no problems. Hope all this helps you pick the right transformer for your application.

Somewhat above average battery at a below average price
Whats to say. Better than the basic battery but not nearly as good as the 4 amp hour model. Good not great. Better but not best. A good choice especially if weight is a problem. Lighter is often more important than run time in which case this may be best choice for that task.
