Best Outdoor PTZ camera for the price.

The Pro's for this camera: Crystal clear HD H264 video Bright and clear Night Vision Easy to use if you have used IP cameras previously Excellent 5x Zoom Auto Focus or Semi-Manual Focus The cons: Vertical movement range is only about 45degrees (You have to mount it really high up in order to take advantage of it's capabilities. Likely 30-50ft/10-20meters) Pan/Tilt and zoom are slow even though the description says "fast" Signal disconnects often from VLC Media player and Zoneminder. For this reason, it is not reliable enough as a full-time security camera. The documentation is minimal with no instructions on how to insert the SD card. Overall, I would recommend this camera as a general use observation camera, but not for use in a security system that detects motion automatically full time.

Works on Linux!

Works with Linux! I use the DJ program Mixxx. Several points: 1) in miss, you have to load the ddj-sb2 Preset under Options -> Preferences -> Controllers -> DDJ-SB2 -> Load Presets. 2) If you want to use the built-in sound card, you have to set Options -> Preferences -> Sound Hardware to ALSA and Output/Master to DDJ-SB2: USB Audio / Channels 1-2 and Output/Headphones to DDJ-SB2: USB Audio / Channels 3-4 (took me forever to figure that out). 3) If you want to use your computer sound card, chose yours as an option under Options -> Preferences -> Sound Hardware and set Output/Master to system / channels 1-2 and Output/Headphones to system / channels 3-4.

Lite-On makes good quality products

I haven't had experience with Lite-on SSD's before, but before they were part of Lenovo, I used to buy their CDR'S, DVDR'S and DVDRW'S and those were quite good and lasted for a long time. I am using this drive in a video surveillance server I am building to supplement/replace the one I already have for my home security cameras. I expect that this SSD will last longer than the OCZ Vertex2 to it is replacing which was dead on arrival. Knowing the manufacturers history, I would recommend this product.
