Strong, reliable and capable
Needed a simple, reliable laptop that would stand up to grandchildren playing games. OK, so this isn't a gaming laptop, but it meets all of their needs (Wizard 101, Minecraft, etc). Yes, there are faster laptops out there, and yes, there are more stylish laptops around, but the Thinkpads are more than capable of playing these games and in my experience stand up to a lot of accidental abuse.
I cannot recommend these highly enough - I have two myself, and have bought one for my daughter and one for a (farmer) friend (who is not noted for treating delicate electronics with kid gloves!), and we have had three or four years of trouble-free computing so far. Look after the software, do regular housekeeping, and you should enjoy a similar longevity and reliability.
