A leaky printhead
I had an experienced printer technician install the printhead. During the trials, also after replacing a print cartridge, and after checking that both the printhead and the cartridges were properly installed, the printhead leaked black ink. That was it, and I stopped trying to get my printer fixed via parts replacement. I am waiting today for a replacement printer.
The leaking should not have occurred, the previous printhead had NOT done that.

Apparently past the usage date
I installed the cartridge and my HP printer gave me an error message, that it was out of warrantly. And indeed it was, since it was dated 2014. That interfered with the printer's use of the cartridge, since it issued an error message and warning light on the console. I certainly did not expect that. It might have had full ink, but apparently it was not "new".
