Cromwell
I tend to enjoy historical drama and this was good viewing, although I wouldn't say historically accurate. They have got some of the history wrong. But if you want facts read a book if you want entertainment then this is ideal. The performances of the cast are fantastic. Richard Harris portrayal of a brooding Cromwell is humanizing he could easily have made him a pantomime villain.His character can be described as an heroic villain or villainous hero.The royalists are well represented as well by Alec Guinness as an easily led,indecisive Charles I and Timothy Dalton as a slightly foppish Prince Rupert. The battle scenes are well filmed as is the aftermath. All in all 8.5 out of 10
